Who are our classes suitable for?
This workshop welcomes all experience levels. Connect with nature on an immersive walk in ancient woodland to gather research material, which will inspire you to create a unique jewellery piece or object back in the workshop.
What will you make?
A piece of jewellery or object inspired by nature. We will look at the research material and identify themes to initiate idea development in the workshop, focusing on elements such as shapes, forms, and textures. The session covers various jewellery making techniques for transferring concepts onto metal, starting with aluminium. Techniques introduced include saw-piercing, hammering, embossing, stamping, filing, and finishing.

We have a well-equipped traditional jewellery workshop with a wide variety of machinery and hand tools. We also have a good selection of specialist tools. Students work at their own individual jewellery bench and we also have larger communal workbenches.
What’s included?
All materials are included in this workshop to make a piece of jewellery or object in copper, brass or aluminium. We also include paper and drawing media. You are welcome to bring your own notebook etc. for recording research material.
Sterling silver can be purchased on the day if you would prefer to make something in silver, please bring £10-£20 additional in cash, (the cost is based on the weight of the silver). Tea, coffee and biscuits are also included.
The workshop is suitable for everyone but please note we will be walking in woodland. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather.
Booking and Cancellation Policy
One Day Workshops
- Your booking fee secures your place, either paid via our website or by bank transfer- we cannot reserve places without payment.
- You have the statutory 14 days to cancel or amend your booking.
- After this time a 50% refund or the option to switch to another workshop will be offered if made more than one month before the workshop date.
- No refunds will be offered less then one month before the workshop commences.
- If we cancel a workshop for any reason, you will be entitled to a full refund.
