Join us to make jewellery, learn new skills, create beautiful things, and have fun with like-minded people!
Who are our classes suitable for?
Our silver clay workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience. This workshop is a great introduction to working in silver clay to create pieces of jewellery or to create accents to use alongside traditional silversmithing techniques.
During the day we introduce you to the workshop, tools, equipment and cover health and safety. With guidance from Helen, you will learn the technical skills required to roll, texture, and cut Silver Art Clay into a beautiful pendant or earrings; you will also learn how to fire, burnish, polish and finish your piece to a high standard.
What will you make?
Silver Art Clay feels like porcelain clay to work with and when fired turns into fine silver. Fine particles of pure silver are mixed with a non toxic organic binder; when fired the binder burns away leaving a silver piece that can be hallmarked as fine silver. You will make 1-2 pieces of jewellery depending on complexity and size.

We have a well-equipped traditional jewellery workshop with a good variety of machinery and hand tools. We also have a good selection of specialist tools. Students work at their own individual jewellery bench; we have separate soldering areas and larger communal workbenches.
What’s included?
All materials are included in the cost of this workshop, including 10 grams of Silver Art Clay and some fireable cubic zirconia stones. Sterling silver jump rings are also included in the cost. Sterling silver necklace chains can be purchased additionally. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also included. The workshop is fun and informative, and no previous experience is needed. Small class sizes ensure individual tuition from your qualified experienced tutor.

- Your booking fee secures your place, either paid via our website or by bank transfer- we cannot reserve places without payment.
- You have the statutory 14 days to cancel or amend your booking.
- After this time a 50% refund or the option to switch to another workshop will be offered if made more than one month before the workshop date.
- No refunds will be offered less then one month before the workshop commences.
- If we cancel a workshop for any reason, you will be entitled to a full refund.
