Who are our classes suitable for?

Our copper bowl workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those who have some experience and are looking to enhance their skills. This workshop is a great introduction to working in copper sheet to hammer form your own unique bowl.

During the day we introduce you to the workshop, tools, equipment and cover health and safety. You will learn a range of traditional silversmithing techniques including annealing, hammer raising, texturing, polishing and finishing.

What will you make?

You will make a hand raised copper bowl from a flat disc of metal using several hammers and steel stakes. You will also make a smaller decorative bowl using a slightly different process, including decorative texturing techniques.

Our jewellery making facilities.

We have a well-equipped traditional jewellery workshop with a good variety of machinery and hand tools. We also have a good selection of specialist tools. Students work at their own individual jewellery bench; we have separate soldering areas and larger communal workbenches.

What’s included?

All materials are included in the cost of this course. Tea and coffee are also included. The workshop is fun and informative, and no previous experience is needed. Small class sizes ensure individual tuition from your qualified experienced tutor.

  • Your booking fee secures your place, either paid via our website or by bank transfer- we cannot reserve places without payment.
  • You have the statutory 14 days to cancel or amend your booking. 
  • After this time a 50% refund or the option to switch to another workshop will be offered if made more than one month before the workshop date.
  • No refunds will be offered less then one month before the workshop commences.
  • If we cancel a workshop for any reason, you will be entitled to a full refund.
